Why Do Sharks Have Cartilage?

why_do_sharks_have_cartilage

Sharks have cartilage instead of bones to have lighter weight which allows them to go up and down quickly.

Cartilage also gives them great flexibility which allows them to bend much more than boned fishes. Such flexibility gives them more velocity as tails can move faster to propel through the water.
